Hank on the track This event was not very uneventful for Hank, first his newly acquired Kinesis Cup wheels developed a leak somewhere. We switched back to his old R1s and then the brake pads were cracked and badly worn out so Hank did a quick pit stop to switch them out. And then he lost control somewhere around turn 3 or 4, spanned out of control with me in the car at 90 MPH. A smoke of dirt and dry grass completely filled the cockpit and blinded our view and my new Kodak DC-260 camera! not to mention Hank's poor car. Fortunately Hank's excellent driving instinct told him to slam both pedals (brake and clutch) down to the floor and that brought us to a complete stop. Hank pitted the car right away to check for damages and I jumped out the car to clean the dirt off my face and the camera, I hesitated to get back in the car right away until I can catch my breath again. Hank flopped his arms wildly and made some chicken noises and jumped in his car and went off again.......(He is a nut!) Things went a lot smoother on Saturday, Terry Springer showed up in his recently repaired 95 993 (He wrecked his car during a track event in Road Atlanta last year). By now the R1s were badly worn out and out of desperation we used some "Fix-AFlat" on the leaking Kinesis wheel to Band-Aid the leak, and it worked! Hank continued on the rest event with the fresh G-force tires and turning the fastest lap time he had ever achieved at "Roebling Road" 1:22. The best possible time in a 993 at Roebling Road is 1:19, so Hank is very close to being on the top of the charts. Cars Hank blown away during this event were a Corvette, a Potiac Firehawk, a BMW M3, several 944 turbos, a RX7, a 996 and many other slow cars......
